The latest release of Live Maps is available in two editions. Standard Edition contains all the features that were available in the previous release and is now compatible with System Center 2012. Enterprise Edition adds brand new features to quickly visualize and assess the impact of issues in your IT environment. Consider the following questions:
Are you able to view the status of all your offices, data centers, and other locations on an interactive geographical map?
Do you know if weather, power outages or other external elements are to blame for a particular outage?
Are you able to easily populate your CMDB without error-prone manual tasks?
Are you able to automatically keep your CMDB up to date as your IT organization changes?
Can your help desk department easily assess the impact of incidents and change requests on services, applications, and other mission critical processes?
Do you have real-time visibility into the performance of your business critical applications?
Can you correlate degradation of performance to specific changes in your environment?
If you answered no to any of these questions, you may want to take a closer look at what Live Maps Enterprise Edition has to offer.
Our new Interactive Maps add complete location-awareness to the System Center Suite. You can now add exact coordinates to every device managed by System Center Operations Manager. Live Maps’ Interactive Maps are powered by Microsoft Bing Maps, giving you access to features like zooming, panning, automatic clustering and much more. Integration with KML allows for the display of overlays such as weather or power outages. The screenshot below shows a Live Maps Interactive Map with an overlay showing weather data provided by the National Weather Service.
Service Manager Integration
Live Maps System Center Service Manager Connector automatically synchronizes your maps and dashboards from Operations Manager to Service Manager. Live Maps’ workflow ensures that every incident gets the business context you need to prioritize your incidents and get them resolved fast. Work Items in Service Manager (e.g. incidents and change requests) can be prioritized efficiently, since Live Maps will automatically attach the affected business service to the work item.
Real-time Performance Monitoring
If you have pinpointed a problem on one of your maps or dashboards the next step is to solve it. Live Maps comes with very powerful real-time application-aware troubleshooting dashboards. These dashboards provide instant access to all real-time and historic information needed to solve the problem. For each view of Live Maps Enterprise Edition purchased, the equivalent number of server licenses for Vital Signs for Windows Server will be provided.
